In late 2018, I was commissioned by the Kansas City Ballet to create Toto the dog as a rod-marionette, as imagined by Nicholas Mahon, designer for their fantastic production of The Wizard of OZ. This world-class ballet is a stunningly gorgeous interpretation of this classic story, and I am proud to be a part of it. Toto has been so successful and life-like as a principle character that the ballet’s director and reviewers alike have found him difficult to stop watching!
OZ opened in Kansas City in the fall of 2018 and is now playing in Denver Colorado.

Check out KCPT's beautiful documentary, for a behind the scenes look at the making of the OZ Ballet. Designer Nicholas Mahon demonstrates the puppets at 27 minutes in, but the entire documentary is captivating and well worth watching.
